After toying with the idea of BurningPeach reincarnating, I eventually built up Peach Ride.

While closer to myself in terms of personality, there was still a lot I wrote as an OC rather than a direct yume-to-sona conversion.

(Like...I mean, I just collect things because I'm filled with autism and require a lot of serotonin. Peach Ambrosia curated because she wants to preserve history, and Peach Ride leans more in that direction.)

Not only that, but, um. She's black/Greek (minding her Greek influences and design's skin color) and has tenure. I am white and have zero tenure.

"Where does the yumesona part come in, though?" I heavily project my autism and give her some of my favorite movies and some of my tastes...but otherwise, she leans more heavily on Peach Ambrosia's tastes and goes from there.

Anyway, her relationship with Spice is definitely a lot feistier than Peach Ambrosia's is, simply because Peach Ride has had to deal with a lot of people and can't exactly blossom them whenever she wants to get shit done. She's also had an abysmal dating life.

So, naturally, I give her a once-slumbering god who recognizes her as his once-wife reborn, and it's very funny to play out. SpiceDoctor is very much self-indulgent and it shows, simply because I know there's definitely a sense of "he would NOT do that", but like.

About Dr. Peach A. Ride

Born Peach Ambrosia Ride in a small town, her historian father gave her "Peach" after the orchard where her parents met, and her Greek mother gave her "Ambrosia" believing that Peach would grow up into something special.

Of course, nobody, not even Peach herself, really knew just how special she was. 🤭 Being the reincarnation of Peach Ambrosia, the Beast of Eternity, yet reborn as a mortal as if to echo her previous life's origins. No powers, no memories of Earthbread, no nothing.

...well, okay, not exactly nothing. You'll see.

Even from a young age, Peach was a prodigy...and a problem, just like she'd been in her past life prior to her transformation as Peach Ambrosia.

In the first grade, she figured out quickly what she'd wanted: to have her own museum. Her favorite movie series was Indiana Jones, to the point where she'd even learned to pick locks in order to access the DVD from a safe when her parents tried to prevent her from watching the movie at midnight. She even broke a boy's nose in the third grade after he'd insulted her binder.

In middle school, her father redirected her physical activity toward karate classes, while she herself began to write journals in foreign languages in order to hide her thoughts from people who would attempt to read her journals (Sanskrit being a favorite of hers to use).

While she did "mellow out" as she got older, her friendships were rather sparse until undergrad, when she met Mira Patel. While Mira was the opposite of her in many ways, Mira didn't judge Peach for her eccentric personality or ambition.

When Peach was older, she would found the Main City Historical Museum, becoming its director and lead curator. While academia wasn't exactly a walk in the park, she worked hard to ensure that she wasn't underestimated, even as she worked to balance the demands of her board and keep the museum afloat.

In 2025, she was asked to check out the mysterious Tomb of the Destroyer--a tomb excavated in India believed to belong to a minor cult. Her expertise and translation work were both useful for the dig, and so she accepted, not knowing what she was going to wake up...

SpiceDoctor Variants

I love AUs, so unfortunately, you get to deal with the variants I enjoy thinking about.

  • Default: Spice comes in as flesh and blood as well, but still obviously a god. Cue hijinks.
  • Cookie Spice: As stated, this variant has Spice still as a Cookie, usually found in a box in the tomb instead of a full-on sarcophagus. Cue hijinks.
  • Undergrad Peach: Essentially, Peach is still in college in Main City University, working to earn her doctorate--when Spice is brought into the picture. Cue hijinks.
  • Herald Reborn: Due to shenanigans with the reincarnation thing, Spice has his Herald of Change appearance...but, well, is still very clearly Burning Spice on the inside, memories and all. I enjoy this one with undergrad Peach as a sort of "prequel variant" for the pair.
